19th Polar Bear Run - January 27, 2018

TThe 19th Polar Bear Run was the first run to leave the state and go to North Carolina. We began at the Petersburg Wal-Mart where we hopped on 301 South and headed to 35 East for an hour's drive to Courtland. In Courtland we got on 58 East and made a stop at the Peanut Patch gift shoppe (great peanuts and other stuff). We filled the parking lot with the 50+ vehicles and overflowed to the DQ next store that had java available. After the 25 minute stop we headed down 58 to 258 South and into North Carolina. The main event this year was a visit to the Brady C. Jefcoat Museum of Americana in the old Murfreesboro High School building. The three stories have 17,000 square feet of display space with over 13,000 items on display including glassware, toasters, farm tools and equipment, period furniture, and many other items. After the tour many when to Whitley's Barbecue for an all you can eat buffet while come others drove a block to Main Street and tried our other restaurants. This may have been the largest run ever with over 100 participants.
